Book Week - March 2023

7 March 2023 (by admin)

We had a wonderful week celebrating World Book Day. On Thursday every single child dressed up as a character from a book! We had the BFG; Dorothy from Wizard of Oz, complete with ruby slippers; Harry Potter, Charlie from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory; Paddington Bear; the Billion Dollar Boy, who threw his dollars/pound notes into the children during worship and so many others. Even staff dressed up with Mrs Macleod greeting the children at breakfast club in her Oompa Loompa costume.
The costumes were amazing and you could tell a lot of thought had gone into them. The children were so enthusiastic about their costumes and the characters they were dressed up as.
In the afternoon parents joined us for the reading sessions. The school was filled with children and parents reading together. Children also had the opportunity to listen to stories read by the adults in the school earlier in the week.

I enjoyed book week and on Thursday it was hot because I was dressed up as Sonic. There were a lot of cool costumes and the  teachers dressed up too.

My favourite part of book week was seeing everyone dressed up as a book character. I also enjoyed reading and sharing books with other children and adults.
