Friends of Bredhurst (FOBS)

Letter from FOBS Team -  24th March 2026

Welcome to the FOBS newsletter!

FOBS (Friends of Bredhurst School) is the school’s parent-led fundraising group.  As a small village school, every bit of support makes a real difference. Thanks to the money raised through FOBS, we are able to contribute towards school events, equipment and valuable learning resources that directly benefit all the children at Bredhurst.

FOBS is run entirely in our own time, alongside work, family life and other commitments.  We are always grateful for the support we receive from parents, teachers and the wider school community. Looking ahead, we would love to welcome more parents to get involved — whether that’s helping at events, sharing ideas, or joining the committee. Many hands really do make light work, and even small contributions of time can have a big impact.  Without your help, we simply wouldn’t be able to run the events that directly benefit your children.

We are also hoping to introduce FOBS Year Group Ambassadors — one parent from each year group who would act as a spokesperson for their year. This role would help us share information more effectively, gather feedback and ideas, and ensure every year group is represented. It’s a simple way to support FOBS without a large time commitment, and it can make a big difference.  If you would like to be an ambassador for your year group, please let the school office know or message Charlotte on 07825683544.

Over the past year, FOBS have donated almost £8,000 to support our school community. These funds have contributed towards many things including the purchase of new laptops, educational school trips, and the well-deserved pantomime! These opportunities make a real difference to the children’s school journey and help to create lasting memories.

This year, the funds raised through our events will go towards some exciting projects designed to support both learning and wellbeing. The school are hopeful to build a reflection area on the field to provide a calm space for children who may find break or lunchtime overwhelming, or to highlight those who may need a friend. In addition, there are plans to build a sand shed to enhance learning through play – in order to bring these plans to life, FOBS will need to contribute over £3000.

Looking ahead, we’re excited to be running some fun stalls and refreshments at the Easter Egg Hunt on Thursday 2nd April. We are currently short on volunteers, so if you’re able to spare a little time to help, we would really appreciate it. Please let us know via the school office or by messaging Charlotte on 07825 683544.
